“For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”   Jeremiah 29:11

All through the bible it’s very clear that God has great plans for us. We were predestined by God for good works before the foundation of the earth. However as easy as it sounds many do not accomplish the great plans of God for them.

A good example is the Children of Israel. Many people are familiar with the story of how God miraculously brought them out of Egypt and placed His hand on them, He performed many might miracles, signs and wonders before them to show them that He is a God who is more than able to do the impossible. His intention was to take them into their promise land, Canaan, the land God swore to their fore father, Abraham and his generations.

Their journey into Canaan should only have taken them 40 days but it took them 40 painful years instead. And, the most alarming thing is the fact that, a whole generation except for Joshua and Caleb, did not make it into their promise land, they died in the wilderness without receiving their inheritance, contrary to God’s will for them.

How sad? When you think of the fact that God is so powerful and it is impossible for Him to fail! God is Omnipotent, Omnipresent and Omniscient. Meaning, He is all powerful and can do all things. He is everywhere, in all part of the universe. And He is all knowing, he knows each of the 7 billion people on the earth by name, and knows what each one is thinking before the thought is formed. His wisdom, knowledge and understanding are unending!

The question now then is this, if God is so powerful and it is impossible for Him to fail, Why then is it a difficult thing for us to receive or accomplish what God Plans for us?

I have been a believer for over 20 years at least, from my personal experience and observation, most often it is because of 2 reasons:

The first one, DOUBT. Often times we believe the lies of the devil more than God. This opens the door for Satan to intimidate us with fear. Then steals. Then kills. Then destroys.   John 10:10

Jesus tells us that, the devil is a murderer. A liar and the father of all that is false, there is NO truth in him. – John 8. Satan wants to steal, kill and destroy. The TRUTH is found in Jesus Christ.

The bible warns us that Satan is fierce!  “Be well balanced (temperate, sober of mind), be vigilant and cautious at all times; for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring [in fierce hunger], seeking someone to seize upon and devour.”  1 Peter 5:7

Satan through his lies uses fear to intimidate and steal God’s promises  from us. Satan is LIKE a roaring lion, meaning, he is not a lion but pretends he is a lion, and of course it is consistent with his nature – a liar, he pretends he is something that he is not, he pretends to be powerful when he has no power at all. All power belongs to God! And you can have access to it through Jesus Christ.

“You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father.”  John 14:13

And that is why we don’t have to be afraid or allow the devil to intimidate us with fear!  Just like the SHADOW of a barking dog can not bite anybody so also it’s is with the devil pretending to be a roaring lion.

As a child of God, Jesus has given you the authority to use His name and command the devil to take his hand off your finances, health, family and every area of your life in Jesus name!

I will pick up on the Second reason in the next post 🙂

Can you share other reasons from your experience?

  1. A timely post I enjoyed it…we do fear so many things in this life and we have got to get to a place where we stop all this fearing, These fears are what the enemy would have us do they are his fears not ours.
