Childlike Faith Receives From God

“For with the heart a person believes (adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Christ) and so is justified (declared righteous, acceptable to God), and with the mouth he confesses (declares openly and speaks out freely his faith) and confirms [his] salvation.” (Romans 10:10)

My friend let me ask you a question. Have you been listening to your self speaking lately? What are you confessing most of the times? I have said this before, you can always tell what a person believes by hearing them talk. Just hang around a person for a while and you can tell what their believe system is like from their conversations. If our confession is wrong it is because our believe is wrong, and if our believe is wrong, it is because our mind is not renewed to the TRUTH – the Word of God.

The bible contains God’s will for us. Those promises in the bible is what God wants you to have. God wants you to have healing in your body, food on your table, peace in your home, He wants your marriage healed, He wants your children well and thriving in very area of life. God’s thought towards you is constant and He is constantly think of how to demonstrate His extra ordinary goodness in your life. (Psalm 8:4 )

You see, we may not always understand everything the Bible says with the natural mind but the Word of God works! Faith in the Word of God is not blind, but creates what cannot be perceived by the natural mind!

For example, take a look at Abraham in the bible. Abraham and Sarah’s case was hopeless, they were both too old and far past childbearing age. But the bible says that Abraham, “ who against all hope believed that he will become the father of many nations; according to that which was spoken” (Romans 4:18). That which was spoken, meaning, what God promised him. And sure enough Abraham and Sarah eventually gave birth to Isaac. They did see the promise come to pass and today Abraham is indeed the father of many nations as promised by God. Not only to the Jewish nation but to all who believe in Jesus Christ as the Savior.(Romans 4:12)

The bible calls Abraham “the father of faith” and he serves has a great example of faith to us today because of the demonstration of his faith in God!  How did Abraham demonstrate his faith before God to qualify for the promise. The Bible tells us that:

  1. Abraham BELIEVED
  2. Abraham expressed his believe through his CONFESSION.

When God Changed Abraham’s name from “Abram” to “Abraham”, which means “father of many nations” (Genesis 17:5). Abraham believed God, and stated to call himself by that name, even though it looked physically impossible, Abraham held on to his confession of faith. And because of that God granted him the promise. Abraham did not receive the promise because it looked possible in the natural, and neither did he received  the promise because he worked for it (Romans 4:4-5)

Abraham, the father of our faith in Jesus Christ received the promise because he believed the WORD of God.  And that, God gives life to the dead and CALLS things that do not exist as though they did. Meaning, God CALLS things that do not exist into EXISTENCE!

“Therefore it is of faith that it might be according to grace, so that the promise might be sure to all the seed, not only to those who are of the law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all 17 (as it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations”) in the presence of Him whom he believed—God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did; 18 who, contrary to hope, in hope believed, so that he became the father of many nations, according to what was spoken.” (Romans 4:16-18)

Let Abraham’s faith encourage you too today. Believe God’s promises for you,  confess those promises instead of speaking negative words and give God the privilege of bringing His promises  to pass in your life in due season.  As a seed of Abraham, the Lord wants His name to be glorified in the earth through your life like Abraham’s life!

“So let us seize and hold fast and retain without wavering the hope we cherish and confess and our acknowledgement of it, for He Who promised is reliable (sure) and faithful to His word.” (Hebrews 11:23)

  1. There is so much power in positive thinking and speaking. All we have to do is dream and believe that the God who exceeds expectations I will do what he does best.

  2. Amen, my dear sister! That is a constant battle; trying not to say things as the world says them! It’s time to look foolish and stay on the Word rather than be with the in-crowd confessing death! Stay blessed!
