Keep Your Focus On Jesus

“Then Peter called to him: “Sir, if it is really you, tell me to come over to you, walking on the water.” 29 “All right,” the Lord said,“come along!” So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus. 30 But when he looked around at the high waves, he was terrified and began to sink. “Save me, Lord!” he shouted. 31 Instantly Jesus reached out his hand and rescued him. “O man of little faith,”Jesus said. “Why did you doubt me?”  (Matthew 14:28-31)

Peter stepped out on the WORD of Jesus, “Come” and he was doing perfectly fine. But, immediately Peter took his eyes off Jesus, he began to sink. Now think about this, what has the storm got to do with walking on water? Even with a perfect weather, human beings can’t walk on the water! Water walking is SUPERNATURAL, and so is Faith. Faith is a supernatural gift from God!

This is often how it is when you decide to step out by faith on the Word of God and do something you believe God wants you to do. The devil will try to distract your focus from the WORD  by sending ‘storms’ – different forms of distractions such as sickness, family problem, financial crisis and anything to get you off track, to get you to start making  negative confessions, and after that doubt sets in, next thing, you give up and quit.

Well, DON’T! …I’m here to encourage you today to keep your focus on Jesus. Keep renewing your mind with God’s promises consigning that problem and keep confessing that word over the problem. Also very important, keep thanking  God by faith for your breakthrough. And take a step of faith! Do what  is possible for you to do  in the natural and leave the impossible part for God to do for you.  My friend, this is what, “Water Walking Faith” is about.

“Now faith is the assurance (the confirmation, [a]the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses]. ” (Hebrews 11:1)

I’m praying for you. God bless you!

You Can Do This

you-can-do-this

” I will go before you and level the mountains [to make the crooked places straight]; I will break in pieces the doors of bronze and cut asunder the bars of iron.

3 And I will give you the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places, that you may know that it is I, the Lord, the God of Israel, Who calls you by your name.”  (Isaiah 45:2-3) AMP

Cast All Your Cares On The Lord!

proverbs3_5-6

7 Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.
8 Be well balanced (temperate, sober of mind), be vigilant and cautious at all times; for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring [in fierce hunger], seeking someone to seize upon and devour. (1 Peter 5:7-8) (AMP)

The Gift of Creative Thinking

WG-315-Imagination (1)

For as he thinks in his heart, so is he…. (Proverbs 23:7)

What we conceive in our imagination is what we will become eventually. What you are thinking or what is predominant in your mind will dictate how your life will go. In the same way, if you allow thoughts of fear to creep into your heart, it will cause you to give up fighting for the best! Napoleon Hill who is best known worldwide for his book “Think and Grow Rich” which has sold millions of copies and contributed to the success of countless readers. Has this to say about imagination,

You will never have a definite purpose in life; you will never have self-confidence; you will never have initiative and leadership unless you first create these qualities in your imagination and see yourself in possession of them…. imagination is the most marvelous, miraculous, inconceivably powerful force the world has ever known.”

The Dictionary describes imagination as “a conception or mental creation, of what is not actually present to the senses.”   So, this is something that is not tangible to our five physical senses. It is something out of this realm, it’s beyond and above us.

The ability for human beings to be creative is a gift from God. We are created in His image and likeness of God. (Genesis 1:26-27).  Take a look at the Bible in the first chapter of Genesis and see God display the majesty of creativity in creating the universe. God created every thing which is visible out of something invisible or intangible!  God is a creative God and our creative ability is an endowment from God which we will be accountable for, one day before God!

God has given us the gift of imagination for good use, this gift is to be used to fashion our lives in alignment with God’s prescription for living a successful life. (Joshua 1:8).  If we don’t fashion our thought pattern in alignment with God by renewing our mind with the Word of God the devil will hijack it for evil and use it to harm us.  That is exactly what happened in Genesis chapter 6, take a look:

“5 The Lord observed the extent of human wickedness on the earth, and he saw that everything they thought or imagined was consistently and totally evil. 6 So the Lord was sorry he had ever made them and put them on the earth. It broke his heart.”  (Genesis 6:5-6) If you continue reading  that passage  to the end you will discover that, wrong thinking was the primary gate way that allowed evil and wickedness to prevail on the earth, and this was the reason why God brought the flood. God literally started again and repopulated the earth through Noah.

For our own good, we should not accommodate wrong thinking, such as fear, worries, anxiety, ungodly images and things that will pollute our imagination and pervert us. By perversion I mean,  imagination that will be counter productive to God’s plans and purposes for us. The Bible makes it clear that we are already blessed in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 1:3) God is not just going to bless us, He has ALREADY blessed us. But you and I have got to know how to move our stuff from the heavenly realm to the earth realm by renewing our mind to what God has already done for us in spite of the opposition and resistance against us.

Philippians 4:6-9 is a good prescription for conducting our thinking in all circumstances.

6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. ……8 And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. 9  Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.” (Philippians 4:6-9)

Verse 6 is telling us not to give room to fear and anxiety, but to ask for what we need. And Verse 8 -9 and is telling us how to stay focused after we have prayed so that we can see the manifestation of our heavenly blessings in the earth realm. And that is by THINKING GOOD THOUGHTS. Thinking right after we have made our request to God in prayer is very important to receiving the answer to our prayer!

The ability to think and be creativity is a powerful tool God has given us to make our way successful in life. Lets us use it for good, let’s take charge of our thinking, the voices and images we accommodate in our space.

“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” (Romans 12:2)

God bless you!

Praying for you. Love, Shade

You Will Make It

Everything-is-possible

Happy New Year!!!

“Jesus said to him,“If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” (Mark 9:23)

It’s good to be back after the Christmas break. I hope your festive season was filled with blessings and beautiful memories. Personally for me, it was wonderful to take time out and travel down to spend some quality time with my family living in the south of the United Kingdom.

I’m absolutely thrilled to share this post with you today. Let me take this opportunity to congratulate you for making it into another year! I thank God for His grace that sustained you in 2013 and brought you through into another year and a new season in your life.

Like many, you probably have been taking time to reflect on last year’s achievements and also, things that didn’t go as planned. And maybe now like most of us, you have set new goals to accomplish in this new year of 2014. I want to take this opportunity to encourage you to believe in your dream. Believe in yourself. Jesus said to him “who believes” all things are possible.

In general, with many people, the problem is not so much as not having dreams for their lives. But what often sets us back is doubt and unbelief in ourselves. Especially when we are surrounded by negative environment and when we encounter obstacles. A large percentage of people most times, subconsciously, give in to the negative voices and images challenging and confronting them from moving forward. But if in moments like this we bring God into the equation, allowing God’s word to shape our perceptive and asking God for help we will witness a miracle.

Miracle by definition is something that can not be explained by logic reasoning. It is beyond the natural world we live in, it is supernatural. God is a supernatural God and He specialises in doing the impossible. No matter how difficult and impossible the situation, God can usher in a turn around. When God steps into an impossible situation, it becomes possible!

Let me encourage you today that no matter how dark the situation looks in the world, as Christians what we need to do is to, switch on the Light to dispel the darkness. The bible says we are the light of the world. We are the light of the World because Jesus is Lord over everything and He lives in us.

For the sake of practicality, how do you turn on the light when you are confronted with dark and gloomy situation, evil medical report, home repossession, difficult family circumstances and others? Take a look at what Jesus says about it

“23 At that time you won’t need to ask me for anything. I tell you the truth, you will ask the Father directly, and he will grant your request because you use my name. 24You haven’t done this before. Ask, using my name, and you will receive, and you will have abundant joy.” (John 16:23-24)

We have a choice, we can give God the opportunity of turning our impossible situations to possibility by asking God for what we need in the name of Jesus! Let us hold on by faith to the word of God in every area of life, because for God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we can ask or think.

I pray that you will allow the Holy Spirit to lead and guide you into every good and perfect will of God for your life in this Year. I pray that you prosper spiritually , emotionally, physically and financially. And may the Lord keep you and preserver you from all evil. Have a blessed and prosperous year in Jesus name!

Too Faithful To Fail!

How great is the goodness you have stored up for those who fear you. You lavish it on those who come to you for protection, blessing them before the watching world. 20 You hide them in the shelter of your presence, safe from those who conspire against them. You shelter them in your presence, far from accusing tongues. (Psalm 31:19-20)

In the very early hours of today, I read a blog post encouraging readers to reflect on  5 reasons why they love Christmas. Immediately my mind was flooded with so many things I could be thankful for. But for me, the top of my list is my family. It got me thinking and reflecting on of how difficult it was to raise 2 young children (11 and 5 yrs ) on my own as a single parent. I remember juggling everything together to make ends meet. But the most difficult part of it,  is to watch my children cope with the emotional pain of a broken home.

But I found a refuge – the solid rock of Christ! The Lord took full responsibility for my children and has kept them ever since from the enemy’s plan to destroy them. They are both responsible adults today, living their lives and growing more and more in Christ.  And i’m so proud of them and grateful to God! The emotional healing came about in stages, one layer at a time God touched every pain and set me free from Satan’s grip.

Today I can confidently say that there is “ a Balm in Gilead that  truly heals”, the Blood of Jesus Christ can bind up any wound, and bring  freedom –  Wholeness  in Christ.   God is faithful and too faithful to fail you, if you put your trust in Him!

I share this testimony today to encourage anyone that might be  going through family crisis or any circumstances that can make celebrating Christmas a daunting experience because of any unpleasant memories or emotional pain connected with family,  relationship or any issues for that reason. I will like to encourage you to take time and meditate on the Word of God, you can take a look into the  Scripture verses in quote above.

Verse 19 – I hope you will take time to meditate on the word of this verse, that you will fully trust God, knowing that He has prepared something Good for you, no matter how difficult things may look in the natural at the present moment.

Verse 20 – That you will take refuge in the presence of the Lord.  I can tell you, that is a place where no evil can find or touch you. And how do you do this? You take refuge in Lord by meditating on the promises of God over that situation. When negative thoughts of fear and anxiety try to take you down the dark path, declare the promises of God and ask God to help you to stay focus, trusting that God is able to rescue and set you free!

Know that God loves you and has a good plan for you no matter who you are. All you need is to call on His name – JESUS! If you call on the Lord with a sincere heart, He has promised that He will not reject you, the Lord will answer you.

I pray that God will give you a cause to be glad and rejoice in His goodness in this Christmas season. May you have a wonderfully blessed Christmas!

Expectation The Power of Hope

marked_sml_1437439273-tuzezahubnew

Surely or only goodness, mercy, and unfailing love shall follow me all the days of my life, and through the length of my days the house of the Lord [and His presence] shall be my dwelling place. (Psalm 23:6)

I sometimes hear people use phrases like “You better don’t get your hopes high.” or “Don’t expect anything in case you get disappointed” I mean let’s be frank,  if you really think about it, when people think like this, they are more or less saying “I don’t know what to expect.” put in another word, ” I’m expecting either something good or something bad.” Well, let me be frank about this mindset, it’s a ‘good recipe’ for disaster. And it’s not God’s will.

God is bold and clear about what His plans are for His children in the Scriptures. And His plans are good not evil. God’s is not wishing or planning any harm for anybody, that’s the devil’s job! The devil is the one who goes about looking for the opportunity to steal, kill and destroy people. (John 10:10).  Jesus Christ is a good shepherd whose desire is to guide you with His goodness and mercy every day of your life as you walk in obedience to His Word! (stop and reflect on that for a moment) Every morning when you wake up God says,  He will show you new mercy, meaning,  He is ready to wipe away your mistakes and failure of yesterday, and give you a brand new beginning everyday as you turn to God in humility and repentance.  And has you believe His word and takes steps of faith in the Word He promises that, He will go before you and remove everything obstructing your path to progress. (Isaiah 45:2).

If you are having difficulty believing the promises of God for any area of your life, I encourage you to get your Bible out and get your “Hopes very high”. God wants you to get your hopes high in His Word. The word of God is not a wishful hope like that of the world, the kind of hope unbelievers know is wishful hope, it is not guaranteed. But Bible hope has a Guarantor – The God who created the universe out of nothing! The Holy spirit who lives in the heart of every believer in Jesus Christ!

If Christ is your Lord, God is with you today! No matter how daunting the evil report, God cannot not fail. I encourage you to renew your thinking with the word of God. Meditate on it and declare what God says about you only.

I encourage you to make time to study and meditate on Psalm 23 and on these Scriptures

For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.  (Jeremiah 29:11)
For the needy shall not always be forgotten, and the expectation and hope of the meek and the poor shall not perish forever. (Psalm 9:18)
Yes, ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it! (John 14:14)
[He has also appropriated and acknowledged us as His by] putting His seal upon us and giving us His [Holy] Spirit in our hearts as the security depositand guarantee [of the fulfillment of His promise]. (2 Corinthians 1:22) Amp
And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. (Philppians 4:8)

Much love ~ Praying for you! God bless!

Keep Your Eyes on the Word

word-abide

“Abraham never wavered in believing God’s promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to God. He was fully convinced that God is able to do whatever he promises.”                          (Romans 4:20-21) LWT

Christ is the Measure

Natività

And to the angel (messenger) of the assembly (church) in Sardis write: These are the words of Him Who has the seven Spirits of God [[a]the sevenfold Holy Spirit] and the seven stars: I know your record and what you are doing; you are supposed to be alive, but [in reality] you are dead.” (Revelation 3:1)

As a Christian is it possible to be part of the Body of Christ and yet be dead? Well let’s take a look at the Church of Sardis as an example.

This Church certainly had a reputation for activities when measured by human standard. Jesus said they were reputable by man’s standard but to Christ they were DEAD. This is one of the most subtle strategies of the devil, getting us full of religious activities without Christ in it! Any time we use wrong measure to determine who we are, or measure our worth the end result is deception. Wrong input equals wrong result.

Making it relevant to the season we are in now, how many people are busy with Christmas shopping and activities and yet no time for the Lord of Christmas?  In their hearts Christ does not stand a chance.  How many Churches and leaders are preoccupied with Church programs and activities and yet, Jesus is not welcomed in their Churches, yet  their activities are tagged with Christ?

The first thing to notice about the Church of Sardis is the Measure used in measuring their worth. Gaining men’s attention was more important than getting God’s approval. Whenever we seek to belong, our focus is shifted from Christ to man. And either way there is a harvest to be reaped.

Do not be deceived and deluded and misled; God will not allow Himself to be sneered at (scorned, disdained, or mocked by mere pretensions or professions, or by His precepts being set aside.) [He inevitably deludes himself who attempts to delude God.] For whatever a man sows, that and that only is what he will reap. For he who sows to his own flesh (lower nature, sensuality) will from the flesh reap decay and ruin and destruction, but he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.” (Galatians 6:7-8)

So, as we go about our activities today, lets pause and ask who are we trying to please? As you go about preparing for the Christmas celebration, buying gifts, wrapping presents, making plans for family, loved ones and social activities to go with the occasion, how much of it is Christ lead? Who is at the centre of it all, is it Christ or self?

Let us remember that Jesus is the reason for the season. Let us open our hearts and let Him be Lord of it all in every area of our life. Let us not get weary in serving the Lord, the same Bible tells us we will reap a beautiful harvest if we don’t quit.  “And let us not lose heart and grow weary and  faint in acting nobly and doing right, for in due time and at the appointed season we shall reap, if we do not loosen and relax our courage and faint.” (Galatians 6:9)

And Perhaps you are reading this and you do not know Jesus Christ, today is an opportunity for you to receive Him into your life as your Savior and Lord. He is also the greatest friend you can ever have! If this is your desire, please say this prayer now:

Jesus, come into my life. Forgive me of all my sins. I ask You to cleanse my heart, and make me a brand new person in you right now. I believe that You are the Son of God and that You died on the cross for me. Jesus I want to thank You for loving me enough to die for me. I accept all that your shed blood bought for me on the cross, and I receive You now as my Savior and Lord. I ask in Your name, Jesus. Amen.

If you prayed this prayer, please contact me and let me know. I will like to support you in your spiritual walk with Christ, if you have any prayer need you can also share it with me, I will love to lift your needs before God in prayer. You can contact me via the blog or email me at houseofprayeroutreach@gmail.com.

Much love ~ Praying you have a restful and blessed weekend!

Let the JOY Out!

mzl.bsdtpmxt.1024x1024-65

There is an absolute need to reclaim the joy of Christmas for every day living! The other day I read a report that saddened me. The report stated that for many people Christmas is the most stressful time of the year. More people suffer from worrying and anxiety. Many get depressed because of finances, whilst others suffer from grieve and disappointment during Christmas more than any other season in their lives. Now then, where does this kind of report come from? Because it is definitely not from God! This is a total distortion of God’s will and purpose. Take a look at what God says about Christmas, the birth of Jesus Christ in Luke 2,

“But the angel said to them, Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of a great joy which will come to all the people but the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. 11 The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David! 12 And you will recognize him by this sign: You will find a baby wrapped snugly in strips of cloth, lying in a manger.” 13 Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others—the armies of heaven—praising God and saying, 14 “Glory to God in highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.” (Luke 2:10 -14)

Can you see? Armies of angels bursting with joy, singing praises unto God! They were praising God because something wonderful, something brand new had happened on the landscape of the earth. The Saviour of the world is born! Prior to Christ birth, Mankind was held bound by sin; anguish, grieve, hopelessness, death and all that come with the fallen nature. Jesus came for one reason, and that is: to give us LIFE. And not just an any kind of life, but an ABUNDANT Life. That is what Jesus said,

The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).” (John 10:10)

Also, take a look at the first sermon Jesus preached when He came to earth:

“”The Spirit of the Lord [is] upon Me, because He has anointed Me [the Anointed One, the Messiah] to preach the good news (the Gospel) to the poor; He has sent Me to announce release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to send forth as delivered those who are oppressed [who are downtrodden, bruised, crushed, and broken down by calamity], 19 To proclaim the accepted and acceptable year of the Lord [the day when salvation and the free favors of God profusely abound].”  (Luke 4:18-19)

Come on! Jesus is talking, good news, forgiveness, salvation, plentiful and abundant free favor of God to all mankind.

Before Jesus came the devil had a filled day given people anguish and grieve, there was no true joy and peace. Until God came to us. The day Jesus Christ was born true joy hit this earth, the very joy that God has in heaven came to live with us on earth. “Behold, the virgin shall become pregnant and give birth to a Son, and they shall call His name Emmanuel—which, when translated, means, God with us.” (Matthew 1:23)

Emmanuel means God is with us, God living with us is not sad news, but exceedingly glad news! Christianity is not just for Christmas day it’s for everyday living. Jesus came on the first Christmas morning 2000 years ago to give us an abundant Life, and He is still living with us today.

Jesus said, “behold, I am with you all the days perpetually, uniformly, and on every occasion, to the [very] close and consummation of the age” (Matthew 28:20) Also Hebrews reinforces this fact,

Let your character or moral disposition be free from love of money [including greed, avarice, lust, and craving for earthly possessions] and be satisfied with your present [circumstances and with what you have]; for He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not,[I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)! [Assuredly not!]” (Hebrews 13:5)

Jesus Christ lives round the clock in the heart of everyone who has received Him as saviour and Lord. Because Christ lives in us we have direct assess to the Joy of God. And that is Good news indeed!

The negative reports the media and others have about Christmas shows how the devil can distort something good when we don’t have an understanding of the Word of God says about our situation, it shows how cares and anxiety of this world can rub us of God’s  peace and joy, if we don’t stand by faith and kick the devil out of what God says is ours.

I pray you are encouraged by this word, that you let the joy out this Christmas and all through the year. Let us not focus on the negative things and lose sight of God’s gift to us, His Son Jesus Christ. Let us remember that God is not absent but with us everyday.  God, Emmanuel is with us! Amen.

Praying the very best of this season for you! God bless!
